In 1956, we were 286 strong, 32 of whom were up from the ranks. We were a diverse group. We came from almost every State in the country. New York led the way with 38 "gentlemen" or 13% of the total. Virginia followed with 28. California contributed 23, Pennsylvania 22. Massachusetts delivered 21. 41 of the 50 States were represented; and one "gentleman" hailed from Honduras.We came from 238 distinctive cities and towns. Triangle, Virginia had 11 men in the class. New York and Chicago each had 8. Six came from Philadelphia. Three arrived from Richmond, Virginia. | |
